Blimey O’Reilly!! This book is by far the hottest in the series so far. The relationship between Mercy and Riley (big brother to Brenna), both Sentinels of their respective packs is completely explosive, with both of them struggling to give themselves over to each other completely. The ensuing battle is so hot it’ll burn your eyes… in a VERY good way. There’s a lot of humour involved too as both of them come to terms with their new situation and we see Riley realising what Brenna and Judd went through with their mating was made 100 times worse by his interference. Both Mercy and Riley are dominants and it’s interesting watching their battles with their own wills, with each other and with their respective packs. The fact neither one of them is Psy means that their relationship is a lot more violent and it makes a change from some of the tenderness we’ve seen with other couples.
The story itself is a little erratic as there is a lot going on. Since both the main protagonists are changelings, the story reverts back to the ongoing battle with the Psy and a new element The Human Alliance, as well as more from “the ghost,” and other rebels and conspirators. I admit it does get a little confusing at times as there is just so much going on, but stick with it because I promise it’s worth it – if only to indulge yourself in the mating heat created by our hero and heroine.
