Some Girls Bite by Chloe Neill
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Turns out her savior was the master vampire of Cadogan House. Now she’s traded sweating over her thesis for learning to fit in at a Hyde Park mansion full of vamps loyal to Ethan “Lord o’ the Manor” Sullivan. Of course, as a tall, green-eyed, four-hundred- year-old vampire, he has centuries’ worth of charm, but unfortunately he expects her gratitude- and servitude. But an inconvenient sunlight allergy and Ethan’s attitude are the least of her concerns. Someone’s still out to get her. Her initiation into Chicago’s nightlife may be the first skirmish in a war-and there will be blood.”
I was recommended this series after putting a request out to all my vampire loving friends. I loved it.
A good start to a series that shows a lot of promise. We are only just getting to know the main protagonists, but I loved the fast paced feel to the story and am desperate to see the relationships between the characters develop. Great “modern” vampire story with it’s own twist.
It reminds me a lot of Jeaniene Frost‘s Night Huntress series – funny, fast and sexy with a promise to get better as the series continues. Can’t wait for the next installment and am so grateful for the recommendation.
